Progressive Health System near Davenport Iowa is currently recruiting for a Full-Time, Clinical Pharmacist Lead. This position offers a Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Schedule. Outstanding Benefits are included.

Position Title: Clinical Pharmacist, Lead
Department: Pharmacy

Purpose: The Clinical Pharmacist, Lead will plan, organize, control, and supervise all Genesis Medical Center pharmacy's clinical activities. In particular, the Clinical Pharmacist, Lead will promote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through the development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies, and other programs.

The Clinical Pharmacist, Lead will serve as a clinical resource for the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services at the site level, build effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments within the health system, and coordinate all activities related to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and formulary management.

The Clinical Pharmacist, Lead acts as a clinical resource for pharmaceutical products, formulary management and the development and management of pharmacoeconomic programs to streamline medication costs.

Report To: Director, Pharmacy

Supervisory Responsibility: Advanced Direction: The job requires some accountability for scheduling, assigning, or coordinating work. The employee will check the quality of work, provide guidance, instruction, training, and direction to others. The job requires some formal or official supervisory responsibility. The individual serves as a group leader and acts in an assistant supervisory or lead role. In addition, the employee is expected to provide information or suggestions on human resources matters.

Materials Responsibility: Moderate: Work requires moderate responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include operating budgets for a work unit or department, specialized equipment, costly or unusual materials or supplies, large amounts of cash or other material assets. The employee has a moderate amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors might result in moderate damage, waste or financial loss. The difficulty, variety and depth of problems associated with these material resources is moderately complex.

Key Relationship: Co-workers/Health System Employees, Physicians/Medical Office Staff, Patients, Families, and Significant Others, Vendors/Clients.


Education: Pharmacist-D degree or equivalent experience

Field Of Study: Pharmacy

Training Preferred: Satisfactory completion of ASHP (Accredited Residency in Hospital Pharmacy Practice); clinical pharmacy practice setting experience; or specialized residency and/or board certification; PharmD preferred

Licensure/Registration: Registered Pharmacist in Iowa. Pharmacist applicants obtaining their initial licensure must obtain their Iowa Pharmacist Registration within 6 months of hire. Those applicants registered in another state must obtain their Iowa Pharmacist Registration within 6 months of hire.

Experience: More than 3 years experience required.
